Robert Diletti

We’re excited to have a new addition to our Labelmakers Geographe and WA Alternative Varieties Wine Show in 2021! Robert Diletti has been part of Castle Rock Estate since its inception in 1981, and can still remember helping plant the first vines as a six year old in 1983.

He graduated from Charles Sturt University in 1998, then working at Mountadam Grosset Wines, Plantagenet Wines and Alkoomi.  He completed a vintage at Jean Grenier in Alsace, France, then returned to Castle Rock Estate to design and build the winery with his family.

Rob has been a Panel Chair at the Perth Wine Show and the Wine Show of WA and has judged at numerous shows including the Sydney Wine Show, National Canberra Wine Show, Margaret River Wine Show and the Hobart Wines Show.

As well as receiving many awards, Rob has achieved many personal accolades including the Tony Smith Scholarship, Young Achiever of the Year (WIAWA), Young Winemaker of the Year (Wine Selectors) and was a finalist in Gourmet Traveller Winemaker of the Year Awards in 2012 and 2019.   In 2005 Rob was one of 12 scholars of the Len Evans Tutorial and in 2015 he was named the inaugural Wine Maker of the Year in James Halliday’s Wine Companion.
