THINGS TO SEE & DO
There’s a lot more to Harvey than meets the eye! Stirling Cottage, located in the town of Harvey, is the first home of May Gibbs, the celebrated children’s author, where the inspiration for Snugglepot and Cuddlepie developed. Harvey is also home to some incredible street art. You’ll discover murals in the main street, shovel sculpture at the Diversion as you enter Harvey and a painted concrete seat in middle of town – it’s worth taking a look!
Big Orange
Big Orange in Harvey is sitting atop a 10 metre tower with an additional 4 metre (62 steps) climb to a viewing platform inside the orange. One of the south west’s major attractions. For many years the ‘Big Orange’ was a focal point when you drove into Harvey.. today its back… bigger and better than ever. Now Harvey Fresh have restored the Big Orange and this famous landmark now sits high above the beautiful Harvey Fresh orchards. Bibbulmun Track Access
The famous Bibbulmun Track stretches from Perth to Albany for 967km. Approximately every 20km along the trail there are campsites, tent sites, huts, sleeping platforms, toilets and water tanks. It is advised to bring your own fuel stove in case of fire bans etc. Don’t forget something to light the stove with or you may have to rub sticks together to get it started.
