The ASVO recognise that 2020 has presented significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, along with bushfires and drought in many wine regions of Australia. They are aware these challenges have affected many of members, both mentally and physically, and the impact on members’ businesses has been substantial. They are conscious that the economic impacts that many businesses and individuals are suffering will persist in the long term.
To support members through these challenging times, they ask you to keep actively engaged with the Society and take advantage of the membership benefits, continuing to develop skills and knowledge. In an effort to provide some financial relief for members they have introduced the following initiatives:
- A 25% discount on annual membership fees for 2020/21 if you renew before June 30.
- A quarterly payment option for all full members. Please contact us at email@example.com to request this payment option.
- Members who are unable to maintain their membership because of loss of their home, vineyard or winery as a result of bushfire or other natural disaster can apply for assistance under the ASVO hardship policy. Applications can be made via email or phone to Chris Waters firstname.lastname@example.org.
Like all businesses, ASVO is adapting to a world living with COVID-19 and working hard to continue to deliver all the usual member benefits. The upcoming ASVO seminar “Australian Wine: Winning the Long Game” will be an entirely online experience, offered at a significant discount, over three days from June 29 to July 1. Check out the ASVO website for the program and registration information.
ASVO will continue to provide free access to LinkedIn Learning, the Australian Journal of Grape and Wine Research, monthly news and information and networking through the membership portal.
The Society has seen a lot of changes since its establishment in 1980 and we are proud to have supported the industry and the many individuals that make the wine industry such a fun and creative place to work. Keep an eye on newsletters and the ASVO website over the course of the year for snippets of history from some significant contributors to the Society.
